200 wonderful women shared a weekend together for Mothers Day and what a wonderful time we had. There was some lovely emails that came in with women already planning for next year and some great comments to improve next year. We are waiting for our CD of all the photos and will post it as soon as it comes in. Thank you for everything and for making this a weekend of fun and celebration for me as well. Here is a photo of our founding group and our very own Fairy Grandmother! Did you get your wish? Blessings, Lee

Wanted to wish everyone a very happy Valentines Day. Whether you are with someone special or you are someone special, this is a day to remember to pamper yourself just a little bit more. Wear Red (it is our favourite colour) and treat yourself to a little chocolate. Be kind to yourself and to others and try to make one new person smile today, it will make you feel good inside.

I wanted to write today about HATS today.
Hats empower women and can make us feel so many different ways. To wear a red hat is a symbol of power, strength and the choice to celebrate life after 50 for many women in Canada and beyond. The Sisterhood of Celebration has many members that love to wear their red hats. They wear them to tell the community that they have earned the right to play and let the little girl inside dance and play and they put a white flower on it to say they are proud to be Canadian.
We encourage women in our organization, to try different colours with their hats and different styles, and as the Founder I love to wear hats every day with every outfit. Sometimes I feel sophistocated when I dawn my bonnet and sometimes I wear hats to be playful. There are times when I need to look business like and times when I want to be bodacious.
I have a hat for every occasion. I love them so much that I have started to make them and I must say I am pretty darn good at it. When I was a little girl I used to watch my mother sew and she would make hats to match her outfits.
They say the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree and I love to visit her and show her the outfit with matching hat that I have just finished…….I love you Mom.My favourite hat other then my 15 red hats, is my Sunflower Hat, designed by an amazing hat designer Lady Diane and she made if for me just from an email. When I received it in the mail I cryed. When I wear it women and men go ahhhhh! and I think you will understand when you see the photo.
You should go to her website and check out the amazing hats she has designed for the Derby and the Red Hat Ladies and every other occasion and event.
Here is mine:
If you have a favourite hat and a photo of it we would love to see it. Share your story with us and how you feel when you put on a hat.
The Queen wears a hat with every outfit. I wear a hat with every outfit and YOU can too. It is all about attitude or should we say H’attitude!!!!!
Ladies, don’t be afraid to try one on and dare to be the Goddess you are inside.

The Cara’s Hope Gala Fundraiser was a great success! Almost 200 wonderful people came out to give their support, for the hard work Sandra Forwell and her staff at Cara’s Hope Maternity Home have done over the past three years in securing a safe haven for the young mothers-to-be.
There were testimonials from some of the girls and listening to their success stories with their children and integrating their lives into the community at large, was heart warming.
Cara’s Hope is so much more than just aiding girls through their decision making in regards to their pregnancy. It is all about on-going programs to facilitate their independance and mothering skills and seeing the community support is such a vital commodity in keeping the faith that Cara’s Hope Maternity Home will remain a vital part of the community.
I am very proud to be a part of that process by being on the Board of Directors and will continue to do whatever I can to continue the great work being done, by giving support in any way I personally can and through our organization, the Sisterhood of Celebration. The Sisterhood of Celebration is about nurturing women of all ages through laughter and fun as well as providing links to services that can provide nurturing of the soul and health of our women in the community and across the country. For all women of all ages.
Here are some photos of the event. Great Job Sandra and all the staff at Cara’s Hope for a job well done.
At Christmas Cara’s Hope had an amazing Christmas party for the girls present and past and their children and what a feeling of the true meaning of Christmas to see the babies and children having fun and receiving gifts from Santa. It was indeed the true meaning of Christmas.

Today I was feeling a little frustrated. I am trying to get so much done and so little time. I had planned a trip that I really wanted to take and needed to take but it seems that it was not in the plans. After my initial disappointment, I started to say a little prayer and call upon my angels guides to show me why I was not suppose to take this trip.
The phone rang and on the other end was a stranger who wanted to know about my business and what I do for a living and told me about a great opportunity that I should embrace - and get this - on the same day as I was planning to leave for my trip.
So the old saying, ‘when windows close, doors open’ really is true. Sometimes we just have to take a deep breath and trust that what we are intended to do will come forward and it is always good. Life is good and when you live each day in gratitude of all small and large, you are blessed with moments of such magnitude - it is difficult NOT to be grateful.
I am so thankful and grateful for each and every day I have and the abundance that comes my way.
Wonderful Holidays January 3, 2008

It is now the third day of the New Year and I finally have a chance to sit and write about my holidays. When I think (very briefly) where I was last year and how far I have come I am so filled with gratitude and thankfulness. This year I made every day count. I started on the 23rd with my dear friends Tonya and Todd and their family and friends with a great dinner, fabulous sweets, and gifts from the heart…..it was a great beginning. On the 24th, I drove to Toronto and spent the day and overnight with my wonderful daughter, husband and all his family in from New York for the holidays. One thing was missing that day. My dear puppie was spending Christmas with his Auntie Norine and I headed back to Cambridge Christmas Night to pick him up and do a little Christmas with my dear friend Norine. Each year we have a tradition of stockings to each other since her husband really isn’t into stockings. It was fun!
After a good night sleep in my own bed with my boy I headed out early to Aurora, to spend the first Christmas with my brother Herbert and his wife. My daughter and the family were also coming up from Toronto later in the day and I wanted to offer my help to my brother in preparation. What a silly notion that was. He is an Executive Chef and had the most amazing tasters you can imagine. He really only needed me there for company. It was a wonderful day. I stayed the night in the most restful room. It was their Tuscany Room and with pumpkin walls and beautiful paintings of Indian maidens, boys and chiefs surrounding me, I felt very protected and safe. My brother has two dogs, Zoey and Kye and they played all day with my Mackenzie and it was indeed the grand finale of a beautiful Christmas.

What a wonderful Christmas this was. Last year I was not sure I would even make it home for Christmas from the hospital and this year I was in my car driving to my daughters in Toronto, my brother in Aurora, and my Mom in Markham. To be with all my family was amazing. This is the first year for my brother and I as he never really celebrated Xmas other than with his lovely wife’s family.
I count my blessings each and every day for the abundance my life brings to me and I can tell you that changing your way of thinking to a positive one and believing with all your heart that you are deserving of good things, brings all the wonders of life right to your door step.
I promised myself in December of 2006 that I would NEVER be in the situation I was EVER again and that from that moment on life would be worth living.
2008 will start off with me organizing my schedule for eating healthy and exercise. At the end of the month my daughter and her husband will take possession of their first home. In February I will be in Texas with my mentor. In April my daughter will birth her first son and my first Grandson. In May I will host my first FUNVENTION in Cambridge Ontario. HOW COULD THINGS BE BETTER!!!!!!
