I imagine your decision only came after much mind searching but if the time is right for you, then all will be well.

I want to thank you for all the help through the years; your patience when I couldn’t seem to get things right on the computer; the effort you made to attend our Funvention in 2007 when I know it was a difficult time to be away from your home and office; the many struggles you had defending us as Canadian Red Hats and the many sleepless nights when you must have wondered if anyone cared.

I wish you the very best in any of your future endeavors and just making a change doesn’t mean that we should not hear from you every so often, so pl ease do your best to keep in touch.

WHAT GOOD ADVICE FOR EVERYONE—-I met you about 6 years ago at the Ambassador Regalia in Kingston and joined the Sisterhood—I am so sorry that you are not playing THE SUPREME GODDESS for the Canadian Sisterhood. You are right when you say we have had many years of fun and hope all RED HATTERS will have many more WE WISH YOU THE VERY BEST IN WHATEVER ROAD YOU DECIDE TO TAKE—And we will indeed tip our hats for many years to come {we hope } ALL THE BEST TO YOU

Funny thing when you say it’s time…..

the emails start to come in again. I was missing the communication with many of my ladies and now that I have announced my retirement I am getting some wonderful thanks and it does my heart good that I will be remembered as the lady who fought to have our Red Hatters of Canada recognized and to offer them a place to call their own.

It almost makes me want to re think my decision. I will continue to stay in touch and share whatever news I receive and please feel welcome to send your events and news because even though we may do our own THING. we do want to stay connected.

Well Lee, your time has come. We (“Starwood’s Scarlett Ladies”) can’t thank you enough for providing a Canadian ‘Red Hat’ option, which allowed us to “let the little girl come out to play” each and every month.

Thank you for standing up to the “RHS”. I can’t even imagine how difficult that must have been for you. Sort of like playing with a spoiled little girl, who when can’t be the center of attention, or wants every toy in the box to be ‘hers’, throws a giant-size temper tantrum. Or that posse of high school girls who are so-o-o popular … every girl wants to be part of their clique. That is until you see how mean they can be towards other girls who try to carve a niche for themselves. So much for playing nice.

Thank you for coming to visit the “Scarlett Ladies”. You made our year! We proudly displayed our “Canadian Sisterhood”, bragging to anyone who would listen. Even though we opted out as paying members, the “Scarlett Ladies” have continued to meet each month (as independent, non-affiliated red hatters). As a matter of fact, this month (July) is our 7th anniversary as proud red hat “Ladies”!!! Currently, our membership averages about 36-40. On the last Thursday of every month, our lounge gets pretty full with red and purple!

Don’t know if you remember, but we also have a sister chapter (“Starwood’s Scarlett Angels”), of ”Ladies” who have passed away. Over the past 7 years our total now stands at 31 members. When one of our “Ladies” passes away, she is remembered with a moment of silence at our monthly gathering, then cheered as we wish her well in happy reunion with her red hat sisters.

We do – and will continue to – wear our red hats with pride. And I will continue to encourage the “Scarlett Ladies” to come out to play, playing each day as if it were her last, as that is what drew me to the RHS in the first place. Such a sense of whimsy and camaraderie … a winning combination. Not to mention the vibrant red and purple combo! Who wouldn’t want to come to play dress-up once a month? We love it!!!

Good luck Lee and may God bless you for all the wonderful caring work you have done for women over these past years. Each journey begins with that first step, so bend that knee and lift up that foot. Then, planting it firmly on the ground, begin your new journey.

Hello my dear lovely ladies in Red.

For some time now many groups in Ontario and throughout Canada and the USA have decided that being a Red Hatter is about dressing up and playing with their friends. I agree.

Our motto is ‘let the little girl inside come out to play…and play today like it is your last.’

When the Society decided to charged individual pricing, it had a great impact on both the Canadian Sisterhood as well, I am sure; the Society.

I will always wear my red hat with pride and I suggest that everyone do the same. You are a Red Hatter and don’t let anyone tell you any different but it is time to make an official announcement.

These are my last days of officially playing Supreme Goddess for the Canadian Sisterhood. We have had many years of fun and consistency in Canada and a few great events along the way, but everything has a time and it is now my time to take another road in life.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there through the ebbs and flows of having a Canadian presence and I wish each and every one of you the best life, the best friendships, and most of all…….Tip your hat and wear it proud that each and every time you put your hat on and add some dazzle to go out with your girlfriends,

Health Wellness and FUN

This may be a little late but I would really love to see some of our red hat ladies come out to my healthy choices wellness show Sunday March 6th. It is about learning healthy choices but part of that is having fun and I think our 38 vendors would really love to see some of our red hatters come out and spend an hour seeing our vendors, watching yoga or Zumba or tap dancing and every hour there are door prizes.

It is at the Newfoundland Club in Cambridge Ontario from 11 am to 5 pm and my brother will be there painting and one lucky winner will take it home.

Hope to see some of you who live close come and have some fun with us. It is going to be raining so what a great outing.

Birthdays can, as we get on in life; be daunting to some and we all would rather stay at 39 and holding, however; they are a reality and so we want to make the best of them.

We are not getting older we are getting wiser

We are not getting older we are getting to a point when sweating the small stuff just doesn’t seem as important. We begin to notice the bird in the tree and the sun rising and being grateful for another day on the right side of the grass!

One of my favorite ladies just had a birthday and I didn’t have the date right, so to Dolores my dear friend from the North……HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to YOU.

Better late than never and at our age what is a day here or there! There is twenty years between us girlfriend, but with your brilliant attitude I feel older most days than you. Keep shining brightly for yourself and all those around you. You bring a smile to others face and a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. I love you from afar! Lee

I want to wish all my red hat ladies a wonderful NEW YEAR.

NEW is a great word. It gives us the opportunity to start fresh once again. Every Day is a new beginning and now we have a NEW Year with 365 days to celebrate our Sisterhood and remember to ‘let the little girl inside out to play’.

Life is too short to sweat the small ‘stuff’ and every morning I wake up on the top side of the grass – is a good day. Every day I get out of bed on my own energy – is a good day. Every day I get to smile and make someone else smile – is a good day.

I have many plans for this year for myself and that includes having more energy to run and play with my grandson, Lose a little on the outside and find a whole lot more on the inside.
